HAMPSTEAD — Martha King Strickland, 71, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was born Aug. 7, 1945, to Everett Elmus King and Geneva Johnson Combs.
Martha enjoyed Shag dancing and belonged to the Causeway Shag Club. Martha also enjoyed going to the beach. She worked as an X-ray technician.
Martha was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Strickland; mother, Geneva Combs; daughters, Denise Allen of York, S.C., and Jennifer Bellamy of Wilmington, N.C.; sons, Lee Norris, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Angier, N.C., and Nick Bellamy, and his wife, Kristina, of Southport, N.C.; brother, George King of Chapel Hill, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Billy Batten will be officiating services.
