OAK ISLAND — Charles Herbert Roberts, 89, passed away at Dosher Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Roberts was born in Gaston County Feb. 14, 1928, son of the late Hugh Herbert Roberts and Mamie Gibson Roberts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Roberts of Oak Island; children, Joan Roberts Lombardi, Michael Roberts, Teresa Roberts Borgardts and Samuel Roberts; two stepsons and one stepdaughter; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 7, at First Baptist Church of Oak Island with the Rev. Charlie Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Cape Fear Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
