WILMINGTON — Rachel Prevatte Lucas was called home to her heavenly father Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, after a battle with cancer.
She was born in Robeson County, N.C., August 18, 1950, daughter of the late Lannie Mae Prevatte and Fuller Prevatte.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Fuller Prevatte Jr.
Surviving are her children, Michael Wayne Lucas (Jennifer) and Toni Ann Klein (Tony) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Austin Lucas, Sophia Klein, Alex Lucas and Nicholas Klein; siblings, Jimmy Dale Floyd (Judy) of Fairmont, N.C., Preston Ray Floyd of Fair Bluff, N.C., Betty Jean Greer (Ronnie), Allen Prevatte (Ann), Kenneth Phillip Prevatte and Barbara Lynn Katlen, all of Wilmington; and many special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Anchor Baptist Church, 300 Futch Creek Road, Wilmington, with the Rev. Jeff Nichols officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any gifts be made to the Anchor Baptist Building Fund or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
