WILMINGTON — Wilma Jean Moninger died peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington, N.C., on Oct. 25 ,after complications from a fall.
She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Aleppo Township, Greene County, Penn., daughter of Frank and Opal Cook Moninger. A 1942 graduate of Waynesburg High School, she traveled to Baltimore, Maryland and was employed by Lockheed Martin Company for 23 years. She returned to Greene County in 1967 to care for her parents.
Prior to retirement in 1987, she was the Greene County Veterans Affairs Director for 19 years, secretary/treasurer of Centennial Cemetery Association and the homeowners association of Huntington Woods. In 2015 she moved to North Carolina to be near family.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother Rex Moninger, sister-in-law Helen and nephew Gary Moninger.
Surviving are her niece, Janice Moninger Shee and husband Jim, of Castle Hayne, N.C.; great-niece Jill Shee Robertson, husband George and great-great-nephews Will and James Robertson of Wilmington, N.C.

A memorial service will be held at Centennial Church of God, Aleppo, Penn., Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Vernon K. Berdine officiating.
