Alice Doddridge Price went to her heavenly Father on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family after losing a second round of cancer.
She was born Nov. 26, 1941, in Barboursville, West Virginia to the late Raymond Lee and Sue Preston Burns Doddridge of Milton, West Virginia. She graduated from Milton High School in 1959 with honors and attended Marshall College in Huntington, West Virginia.
She married her husband, John Price, on Nov. 7, 1959, and raised two sons, David Ray and Josh Morgan.

She started her banking career at Huntington National Bank in Huntington, West Virginia until moving in 1969 to Wilmington, where she joined Wachovia Bank until she retired as assistant vice president and branch manager.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John; her two sons, David Ray Price and wife Suzanne and Josh Morgan Price and wife Kristina, all of Wilmington; her sister, Lenora Jane Guthrie of Newport News, Virginia; five grandchildren, David Chase Price of Jacksonville, Brandon Ace Price of Chapel Hill, Martina Helene Price, Skylar Morgan Price and Liam Hilton Price, all of Wilmington, to which she was completely involved with much love; and five nephews, six nieces and several cousins.
She was a longtime member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church, where she was a Stephen minister, member of Agape Sunday School Class, Mary Alice Whitfield Circle, United Methodist Women, and a member of the receptionist team.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 10 a.m. until the service time.
