Mary Lucille Mayer, of Wilmington, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at the age of 89.
She was born in Wilmington on Sept. 11, 1925, to George Allie Moore and Julia Biddle Moore. She was the widow of Charles Stephen Mayer.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a talented quilter and enjoyed all crafts and gardening.
She is survived by her three children, Connie Gore (Mike), Mary Elizabeth Haney (Carl) and Steve Mayer; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Parlier and Eleanor Coleman.
The family will see friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial services will be private.
