Hazel Howard Langston, of Wilmington, died of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, and passed into her heavenly home. She was 84.
She was born Sept. 8, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Furney and Ella Howard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Albert Langston and her sister, Ruby.
Hazel is survived by her beloved family, her children, Albert Langston, of Grifton, Lynn Langston, of Wilmington, Sandra Kinney, of Newport, Wayne Langston, of Wilmington and Janet Odom, of Leland; grandchildren, Angela Langston, Alan Langston Jr. and Matthew Langston; great-grandchildren, Ella, Morgan , Tresa, Talan and Hailey; and one brother, Willie D Howard, of Holly Ridge.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with the Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating. Burial will follow at Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Casual dress is optional.
