Robert Bryan Baumgardner, of Leland and formerly of Rocky Point, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at the age of 76.
He was born in Wilmington on May 7, 1938. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Brown and Mary Mintz Brown.
Bobby was a professional welder and pipe fitter and worked at many industrial sites during his career. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, Manley Reece Post # 2573.
Bobby is survived by his children, Jeanette Mallard, Robin Nelms, Sheila Wallace (Bobby Wallace), Wendy Suggs (Steven Murvin), Jimmy Baumgardner and Dana Craig; his special companion and friend, Margie Stone; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marian Pritchard.
The family will see friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at the Winter Park Cemetery on Dixie Avenue in Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
