Frederick Herbert Hoon, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation. He was 84.
He was born in Sublet, Illinois on Dec. 12, 1930, the son of the late Herbert Warren Hoon and Irene Nivella Jones Hoon.
Mr. Hoon retired from the International Sales Department at Westinghouse after 33 years of service. He was a member of Westinghouse Sure, Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport, the AUXAIR Post of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Flotilla 1004 of Oak Island and longtime member of the Lions Clubs. Mr. Hoon was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Hoon; three children, Frederick Lansing Hoon and wife, Elizabeth, Andrew Karl Hoon and wife, Jennifer and Carolyn Hoon, all of Denver, Colorado; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Parker Love, of Loveland, Colorado and Charlene Kiraly and husband, Nicholas, of Aiken, South Carolina; two stepsons, Wesley Parker and wife, Becky, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and Chris Parker and wife, Karen, of Schertz, Texas; and one sister, Betsy Thomas, of Delray Beach, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at later date.
