
Patricia Ann Carney, of Wilmington, died at her home on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at the age of 78.
She was born in New York on Dec. 4, 1935, daughter of the late Patrick Carney and Anna Bachmann Carney. She retired from Venture Industries in New York as a habilitation specialist working with developmentally disabled adults. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and loved dogs.
Surviving are her daughters, Celeste Bjorlin (Duane), of Plymouth, Minnesota, Christine Brown, of Greensboro and Patty Accattato (Anthony), of Wilmington; grandchildren, Bryan, Jeff (Jacquie), Christopher, Nicholas, Colin, Logan, Paul, Sarah, Matthew and Emily; and a great-grandson, Carter.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Oleander Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Preston Wells officiating.
Ms. Carney’s family wishes to convey their heartfelt appreciation to the entire Elderhaus PACE staff, especially Pat’s Care Team: Page Rutledge, Midesha Pillay-Stewart, MD, Andrew Weaver, Elizabeth Dale, Heather Geddis, Scott Gurley, Frank Walker, Sonia Hansley, Tara Barnhill, Candy Lee and Ebony Spears.
