Michele Ann Murray, 56, gained strength and friendships through Pretty In Pink at YWCA

Michele Ann Murray, of Hampstead, died Tuesday Aug. 19, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. She was 56.

She was born April 5, 1958, daughter of the late Ann and Michael Trinchitella, of Port Washington, N.Y. Michele is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Christopher M. Murray, Sr. and her two children, Krystle Murray, of Atlanta and Christopher Murray Jr., of Wilmington, as well as her four sisters, Nancy, Lee, Susan and Patty.

Michele worked as a medical assistant for over 20 years in New York and most recently for Wilmington Heath in Porters Neck. Michele was a participant and supporter of the Fluid Recovery Program sponsored by the Pretty In Pink Foundation at the Lower Cape Fear YWCA. These swim classes helped Michele gain strength and build friendships with other breast cancer champions.

Michele enjoyed walking on the beaches of Topsail Island with her family, hunting for sea glass and other beach treasures.

The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel, 17730 Highway 17 North, Hampstead, NC 28443.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Pretty In Pink Foundation, Inc., 2501 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 25 Raleigh, NC 27607.
