Cecile Lee Weaver, of Castle Hayne, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at the age of 83.
She had many skills and worked hard all her life. She was a wonderful mother and was greatly loved by all her children, grandchildren, family members and friends. She was a woman of conviction, great strength and honor, and these wonderful qualities have inspired all of us in our own lives. All of us want to say a big “Thank You, Mother” and you will be missed by all who knew you, until we meet again.
She was born in Darlington, S.C. on Feb. 17, 1931, and was preceded in death by her father, Guy Gainey; mother, Edna Gainey; and sister, Rebecca Lewis. of Lydia, S.C.
She is survived by her son, George Fowler, Jr. and wife, JoAnn, of Currie; daughters, Linda Brown and husband, Roy, of Richlands, Patricia Spivey, of Leland, N.E. and Cheri Bundy and husband, Wayne, of Castle Hayne; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Castle Hayne Church of God followed by a funeral service beginning at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Andy Ottoway officiating.
