
Willie B. Pless, of Wilmington, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center. He was 87.
Mr. Pless was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a cabinet maker in Baltimore and in retirement tinkered with repairing mowers and bicycles.
He was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Hyman, S.C. and was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Arthur Pless and Mable Emilie Rhinehart Pless; brothers, Thomas and Shuford Pless; and sisters, Faye Kline and Nyda Grimsley.
Surviving is his daughter, Carol Pless Bordeaux (David), of Wilmington; son, Lynn Pless (Robin), of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Alex Pless (Courtney), of Richmond, Va. and Katie Pless, of Lynchburg, Va.; brother, Gary Howard Pless, of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
