Robert “Jerry” Cooper, of Hampstead, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Davis Health Care Center at the age of 86. He was born on March 25, 1927, in Oceanside, N.Y.
Mr. Cooper was an active member of Topsail Presbyterian Church. He was also active in the Boy Scouts, the Lions Club and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his son, Bob Cooper and wife Susan, of Athens, Ga. and three grandchildren, Sarah, Nora and Ethan Cooper.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Topsail Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Owen Carriker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mr. Cooper’s name to Topsail Presbyterian Church, 16249 U.S. Hwy 17 North, Hampstead, NC 28443.
