WILMINGTON — Battleship North Carolina Memorial will close early Monday, March 16, at noon and will not re-open for visitors until Tuesday.

All public tours, events, and activities are suspended until Tuesday, in order to ensure both the safety of visitors and staff and the preservation of the ship.

“Our team is working diligently to prepare the site for the weather to come, and we look forward to welcoming visitors as soon as it is safe to welcome them,” Battleship Executive Director Jay Martin said. “We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and we encourage the public to continue prioritizing safety during this intense weather.”

Any available updates will be uploaded to the battleship’s website and social media channels. The battleship opens again at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17.
