WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Community College has appointed two new members to the board of trustees — Cailey Rash and Shannon Winslow.
Rash and Winslow will take over from Deborah Maxwell and Jonathan Barfield, each serving four-year terms ending in 2029. A.D. “Zander” Guy and Commissioner Dane Scalise have been reappointed as well, by the Pender County and New Hanover County commissioners respectively. Each will serve a four-year term concluding in 2029.
Rash is a local entrepreneur and advocate for maternal health. She operates her own business as a childbirth educator and birth doula. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Wake Forest University and was previously celebrated as a WILMA Women to Watch finalist.
Winslow is the director of strategic accounts at WebMD Health Services, where she partners with Fortune 100 companies to design global health and wellness strategies. She is also chair of the New Hanover Community Endowment. Shannon is a Wilmington native with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill and an MBA from UNCW.
“We are excited to welcome Cailey and Shannon to the CFCC Board of Trustees,” CFCC President Jim Morton wrote in a press release. “Their leadership and dedication to community service will help guide our college as we continue to grow and support student success. At the same time, we are grateful to outgoing trustees, Ms. Deborah Maxwell and Mr. Jonathan Barfield, for their years of service and contributions to CFCC’s mission.”
