
WILMINGTON – A local man is dead after his motorcycle collided with an SUV Thursday night.
According to a statement from the Wilmington Police Department, at approximately 9:41 p.m., officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Cinema Drive and South Kerr Avenue. Upon arrival, they assisted first responders with the Wilmington Fire Department and Novant Health EMS in providing life-saving measures to the motorcycle rider.
However, the injuries were too severe and 25-year-old Dock Woodard Jr. of Wilmington died at the scene.
An initial investigation of the crash revealed the motorcycle collided with a Honda Pilot. No one in the SUV sustained serious or life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation by the WPD Traffic Unit.
