One of NHC’s free drinking water stations out of service

WILMINGTON — A drinking water station in the northern part of the county is out of order, according to the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.

Ogden Park has a free drinking water station that was installed in 2018 after the discovery of GenX in the Cape Fear River, as a means to provide free, clean water to area residents. CFPUA said in a release it’s awaiting replacement parts to fix the issue.

The water station at Veterans Park, 835 Halyburton Memorial Parkway, is operating and available for use. Both stations procure water from CFPUA’s two groundwater systems.
