NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A controlled burn will take place through Dec. 12 in the Castle Hayne area.
A burning permit has been issued for a lot of land near Parsons Mill Drive and Perennial Gardens Court. Crews are on site clearing ground vegetation on approximately a half-acre of land.
N.C. Forestry and New Hanover County Fire Rescue are aware of the burn and will be monitoring the situation.
