NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The annual Art in the Arboretum sale scheduled for fall will return in its 27th year and artists who want to sell their works have until Aug. 31 to apply.
Requirements include artists submitting two photos of their works to be judged to receive approval for participation. The New Hanover County Arboretum will send the acceptance notifications Sept. 6; booth registration requests and payment instructions will be included.
Proceeds from art sales are split between the arboretum, the artists and Wilmington Art Association. More information for area artists can be found here.
A Sip, Savor & Shop launch party and preview sale takes place the Friday night ahead of the weekend festivities. It’s open to members of Friends of the Arboretum. The public sale takes place Oct. 1-2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily.
The 2022 show will return to its traditional early October date after being held in November over the past few years. Artists will be able rent booths, a 10-by-5 or 8-by-8, held under the eaves of two buildings on the grounds. It can rent space to erect 10-by-10 tents in various gardens on site.
