NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A drug dealer responsible for supplying a victim a deadly dose of heroin is being charged by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
On Aug. 4, vice and narcotics detectives responded to a fatal heroin overdose in the 6000 block of Carolina Beach Road. Through their investigation, they identified Cornell Glendell Wilson as the dealer.
Wilson was arrested on Aug. 5 in the same block on Carolina Beach Road where he was found in possession of approximately 25 bindles, or small envelopes made by folding paper into a square, of heroin packaged for sale.
He’s being charged with felony death by distribution, felony possession with the intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin, felony maintain a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson is being held at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
