WILMINGTON — As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, a local community complex will be under a precautionary boil water advisory, according to the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.
The advisory is in effect on June 14 for Park Place Condominiums off Park Avenue behind Hanover Center. CFPUA noted in a release the advisory will impact 150 customers in the addresses of 3600-3739 Johns Court, who should have received a hand-delivered notification.
Crews need to “offset a water main to accommodate new stormwater piping in the area,” CFPUA stated.
Due to the work, there could be periods of low or no pressure, as well as a potential increase for back siphonage with the introduction of bacteria into the water system.
Customers should boil tap water for a minute and allow to cool before consuming. CFPUA lab will test the water safety before lifting the advisory.
