Taking place June 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Leland Cultural Arts Center (1212 Magnolia Village Way), the free expo includes workshops and presentations on flooding, insurance and stormwater management. It also will include a Q&A with town staff and state and federal public safety officials.
Participating agencies include Leland police, fire/rescue, public services, Brunswick County Emergency Services, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, American Red Cross, N.C. Cooperative Extension Agency, N.C. Department of Insurance, Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry, WWAY TV3, and H2GO.
“A prepared community is a resilient community and preparation begins with knowledge,” John Grimes, emergency management chief, said.
Locals are welcome to submit questions here by June 5.
