BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Pop-up vaccination clinics will be held this month and next at Waccamaw Park Community Building in Ash and Town Creek Park Community Building in Winnabow for ages 5 and older. All Covid vaccines, including second boosters, will be offered at the clinics for eligible individuals.

Masks are required for everyone inside both locations. Vaccines are free to everyone regardless of insurance status. Insurance is not required, though bringing ID and insurance cards is encouraged if available.

On May 11, May 23, June 1 and June 8, the Waccamaw Park Community Building (6420 Ocean Highway East) has open vaccination times from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Each clinic is walk-in and indoor.

On Wednesday, June 8, the Ash Area location, 5855 Waccamaw School Rd. NW, will have open vaccination times from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. inside the Waccamaw Park Community Building. The clinic is walk-in, and appointments are not required.

Those with mobility issues or who prefer to not enter the building will be accommodated from their vehicles.

Brunswick County Health Services will offer first and second does for everyone 5 and older, third additional doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna (mRNA) vaccines for the immunocompromised, first booster vaccines for ages 12 and up, and second booster vaccines for ages 50 and up, those who have received Johnson’s Janssen Covid-19 for their first shot and booster, and/or people who are moderately to severely immunocompromised.

All three vaccination types – Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and J&J – will be available at the clinics as well. CDC recommends Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, though also emphasizes receiving J&J is better than no vaccination. Anyone 5-17 years old is only eligible for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Written permission is required by health services from a parent/legal guardian to administer vaccines to 5 to 15-year-olds and boosters for 12 to 17-year-olds. A consent form should be completed for a child by the parent or legal guardian. Forms are available at brunswickcountync.gov/vaccines.

Brunswick County Health Services main clinic appointments are still available in Bolivia for eligible individuals ages 5 and older. Individuals and/or parents can book appointments online

More Covid-19 vaccine information is available at brunswickcountync.gov/vaccines.
