
WILMINGTON — An indie film has set up in Southport and is looking for stand-ins for a few of its actors. It’s also in need of extras.
Joey Lauren Adams (“Dazed and Confused,” “Chasing Amy”), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“500 Days of Summer,” “Snowden”), Lily James (“Pam and Tommy,” “The Dig”), and Himesh Patel (“Station Eleven,” “Yesterday”), are set to star in “The Problem with Providence.” The film begins shooting in Southport Monday, May 9.

Marty Sui Casting announced on its Facebook page a search for stand-ins for the actors. Applicants should be of similar shape and body build, as well as share the same hair color and skin tone.
Also wanted are a variety of extras:
- 2 Bobette’s Daughters — blonde ages 3-6 (May 9)
- A lanky 15-year-old boy (May 9)
- An 18 year-old teen boy — troublemaker look (May 12)
- A 3-6-year-old son (May 24)
- A photo double for Jim Gaffigan (must have same height, build, and look from behind, and be willing to get hair trimmed)
Interested parties will need to create a profile at Makescenes.com database, using the activation code, “SHIPS.” Then click “add projects” and “save info,” in order to register for the project.
After the profile is created, a résumé with headshots should be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line featuring the role of the applicant (ex: JOEY STANDIN).
Filming takes place from May 9 through June 9. Pay rate for stand-ins is $175 for 12 hours.
