Leland police identify man found in pond in Waterford

Leland police discovered the body of a 48-year-old male Monday and have released his identity. (Port City Daily/File).

LELAND — According to the town of Leland, the police department has identified the person found in a pond in the Waterford residential community Monday.

The person discovered was a 48-year-old man, Andrew Kincaid, of Leland. A release from the police noted Mr. Kincaid was last in contact with his family members on the evening of May 1.

Kincaid was discovered by first responders around 9 a.m. May 2. Police surveilled the scene for eight hours; the cause of death will not be known until an autopsy and toxicology results are complete.
