WILMINGTON – On Tuesday, Mar. 22, 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m., Smart Start of New Hanover County will host the annual Children’s Champions event and breakfast to acknowledge nominees and crown the 2022 winner at the Country Club of Landfall.
This event recognizes community members that have provided service to youth up to 5 years and/or their families countywide. Smart Start works with families to ensure every child enters school with the health, family support and early education necessary to succeed. There are 10 nominees that also provide ample support to early access to learning.
Award-winning explorer and oceanographer Dr. David Gallo is the keynote speaker of the breakfast. Gallo has participated in and will be speaking on new technologies and scientific discoveries. He has received 16 million views for his TED Talk, “Underwater Astonishments.”
