Brunswick Sheriff’s Office arrests man for stealing almost $3K in fuel

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A man from Florence, S.C., was arrested for stealing motor fuel from a gas station in Leland, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Its criminal investigations unit charged 35-year-old Alphonso Macio Fleming with two counts of larceny of motor fuel and two counts of possess stolen goods/property. The sheriff’s office noted on a social media post that Fleming allegedly stole over 500 gallons of fuel, worth nearly $3,000, from a Minute Man convenience store on Mercantile Drive in Leland.

Fleming was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility and remains under a $100,000 bond.
