Dosher Memorial, medical clinics revise visitor restrictions

SOUTHPORT — As Covid-19 community transmission rates have fallen over the last month, Dosher Memorial Hospital and its medical clinics have reevaluated visitor restrictions.

In its patient care unit, visitors 12 or older are allowed. Though how many can visit will be based on the individual patient’s condition, care needs, and other precautions.

Patients that have Covid-19 are allowed two designated visitors a day from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. The visitors must oblige by safety precautions as instructed by staff.

Depending on space, emergency department patients can have up to two visitors. Those who are suspected to have Covid-19, again, must designate the same two people to visit throughout the patient’s stay.

Within the Dosher Medical Clinics, all waiting rooms have reopened. The patients will be screened and social-distancing will be required.  Masks also are still required in both hospitals and clinics at all times.
