Big Dawg announces rescheduled dates for first play of 2022

WILMINGTON — After having to cancel their first show of the year due to the Covid-19 surge, Big Dawg Productions has released new dates for “Always a Bridesmaid.”

The Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten’s play will premiere Apr. 14-17 and Apr. 21-24 in the Ruth and Bucky Stein Studio Theatre at Thalian Hall (310 Chestnut St). Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m on Sundays.

The premise of the play surrounds four friends — Libby Ruth, Deedra, Monette and Charlie — who have promised to be in each other’s weddings, a vow they made the night of their senior prom. Thirty years later, they’re still following through on the promise.

The play will star Emily Absher, Emily Graham, Erin Hunter, Kari Elizabeth Sea, Tamica Katzmann, Paula Davis, and it is directed by Jace Carlyle Berry and assistant director, Beth Corvino.

More information can be found at https://www.thalianhall.org or by calling (910) 632-2285. Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and one hour prior to curtain. Tickets are $28 excluding taxes.
