Man arrested for hit-and-run into apartment, victim passes away from injuries

WILMINGTON — Early Saturday morning a car crash into an apartment building sent two people to the hospital, as the driver fled the scene.

Wilmingtonian Kelly Prince, 48, passed away from her injuries at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, according to a press release from the Wilmington Police Department. The second victim, Luis Rodrigues, has been upgraded to serious condition.  

The police arrested 23-year-old Walter Wade Ange and and charged him with felony hit and run resulting in death, felony hit and run resulting in serious injury, reckless driving to endanger, and a stop sign violation.

Ange is currently in the New Hanover County Jail under a 100,000 secured bond.
