Monday, Nov. 17

The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in city hall, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. 

The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Adoption of a resolution opposing Chemours’ facility expansion
  • Presentation of the New Hanover County Sustainability Assessment 

The New Hanover County Board of Education and Board of Commissioners will hold a joint meeting at 3 p.m. in the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, to discuss a 2026 school bond. Meetings are livestreamed here. 

The Kure Beach Town Council will host both a special meeting at 4:00 and a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers of Town Hall, 117 Settlers Lane. Meeting audio is uploaded here. The agenda for the special meeting at 4 p.m. includes:

  • A public information session on the beach nourishment project and presentation from the US Army Corps of Engineers

The agenda for the regular meeting at 6 p.m.  includes:

  • Appointing Stephen Corcoran and Trent Taylor to the Bike/Ped Committee
  • Approving memo requests
  • Amendment to contract to audit accounts
  • Approve Budget Amendment 26-01 totaling $790,000
  • Presentation on the audit
  • Presentation of the transportation plan

  • Discussion and possible action of parking around Kure Beach baptist church

The Belville Board of Commissioners will host a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the NC Highway Patrol Chambers at 63 River Rd. An agenda was not posted. 

The Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m., 805 S. Walker Street. The agenda includes a public hearing for a special use permit to allow for the expansion of an existing non-metallic mineral mine located at 4324 Shaw Highway. Also, consideration of approval of a budget amendment and allocation of economic development appropriation to Amazon for site development in the amount of $500,000. The meeting will livestream here.

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m., 30 Government Center Drive in Bolivia. The agenda includes a vote on approving proposed updates to the Stormwater Quality Management and Discharge Control Ordinance and Management Manual. Also, consideration of a contract amendment with CDM Smith, Inc., adding $1,336,000 and extending the contract to September 30, 2026, for construction administration services on the Northwest Water Treatment Plant Expansion. The Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners will meet for a closed session at 10 a.m. in the Topsail Beach Town Hall.

Tuesday, Nov. 18

The New Hanover County Schools Finance, Capital and Bond Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Discuss Bond 2026 Joint Meeting 11.17.2025

The Wilmington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in city hall, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes: 

  • Ordinance Amending the Land Development Code, Chapter 18, to Establish Food Banks as a New Use
  • Ordinance Designating the Wilmington Iron Works Building at 201 South Water Street as a Local Historic Landmark

The Burgaw Board of Commissioners will meet at 4:30 p.m. in the Burgaw Town Center, 108 E Wilmington St. The agenda includes a resolution of support that would allow the town to retain and administer the full six percent of occupancy tax revenue collected within Burgaw, instead of the current three percent split with Pender County. Also, a resolution supporting a traffic signal installation at the US Hwy 117 Bypass &

The Pender County Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. in the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 U.S Highway 117. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Resolution to Support Equitable Funding for Exceptional Children
  • Mascot Decision for JH LEA Elementary and Middle School

Wednesday, Nov. 19

ILM Noise Study Workshop and Open House is taking place at Snipes Academy Auditorium (2150 Chestnut St.) at 5 p.m. Kory Lewis from Coffman Associates will give a presentation first; afterward, a workshop will be held in the gymnasium from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Participants are welcome to drop in at their leisure to learn more, ask questions and provide feedback. The Leland Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. at Leland Fire Station 21. The agenda includes approval of amendments to the town’s recently enacted open burning for land clearing ordinance and a public hearing to consider amending the zoning map for two parcels totaling approximately 0.96 acres on Village Road. The request is to rezone the properties from their current C-1, General Commercial Business District, to R-15, Medium Density Residential District, to allow for residential use.

The Burgaw Planning Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Burgaw Town Center, 108 E Wilmington St. An agenda was not posted by press. 

The Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20, 12:30 p.m. at Forden Station, 505 Cando St. A public comment period, limited to 5 minutes per person, will be offered at the meeting. The Wilmington Board of Adjustment will meet at 1 p.m. in city hall, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • 100 River Rock Way: Variance to from Legacy City Code Section 18-556 vision clearance standards to allow existing wall to remain as built

The Bald Head Island Village Council will host a regular meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the Department of Public Safety building in the Multipurpose Room at 273 Edward Teach Extension. Meetings can be joined here. The agenda was not posted. 

The Surf City Town Council will meet at 9 a.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. The agenda includes a presentation by NCDOT on their express design process and alternatives developed to alleviate traffic congestion at the Island Roundabout. The meeting will livestream here.
