No. 8 Most-Read Story of 2020: Cooper enacts stay-at-home order

SOUTHEASTERN, N.C. — As part of our countdown to 2021, Port City Daily is revisiting some of its biggest stories of 2020.

Coming in eighth is Governor Roy Cooper’s announcement of a statewide lockdown on March 27.

The story comes in just ahead of yet another huge Cooper announcement, the public face mask requirement, which ranked as the ninth-most read story of the year.

Cooper’s March 27 announcement marked the beginning of a devastating time for small businesses across the state.
