LELAND — Four individuals, including two students and two adults, were injured Wednesday morning after a school bus crashed in Leland.
The Cumberland County Schools bus overturned on the westbound 74 ramp from northbound U.S. 17 and authorities arrived on the scene around 11:30 a.m. Around 33 people were onboard, including 26 students, who were members of the Douglas Byrd High School football team from Fayetteville. They participated in a 7-on-7 football event at South Brunswick High School.
The six individuals transported by ambulance had non-life-threatening injuries. The remainder of occupants also were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Leland Police Department.
Motorists in the area could encounter delays as investigators process the scene and the overturned bus is removed.
