Monday, May 25

Government offices closed for Memorial Day.

Tuesday, May 26

The Brunswick County Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, May 26, for the purpose of conducting the annual evaluation of the Superintendent. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Board room of the Brunswick County Schools Administrative Building, 35 Referendum Drive, Bolivia.

New Hanover County Schools Board of Education will hold an agenda review meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2 p.m., in the NHC Board of Education Center. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Pender County Board of Education will convene in a Committee of the Whole May 26, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be conducted at the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center at 798 US HWY 117, Burgaw. Board members may attend virtually. The meeting will be broadcast on the PCS YouTube channel.

The Carolina Beach Town Council will host a workshop in Council Chambers at 9 a.m. to discuss the budget. Meetings can be streamed here

The Kure Beach Town Council will host a special meeting in Council Chambers at 4 p.m. to discuss a personnel matter in closed session.

The Southport Board of Adjustment will host a meeting at the Indian Trail Meeting Hall at 4:30 p.m. The agenda includes a hearing for a special use permit for a multi-family residential building in an office/industrial zoning, applied for by the nonprofit Brunswick Partnership for Housing, which works to end homelessness in the county. The Oak Island Town Council will host a special meeting in Council Chambers at 6 p.m. The agenda includes a public hearing on the budget. Meetings can be watched here.

The Leland Planning Board will host a regular meeting in Town Hall at 6 p.m. The agenda includes a presentation on the comprehensive 2045 plan and discussions on UDO articles 9 and 10. Meetings can be streamed here.

Thursday, May 28

The Belville Board of Commissioners will host a regular meeting at the NC State Highway Commission at 6:30 p.m. The agenda includes an update on the riverwalk, upcoming events, the budget, the vegetative debris removal contract bid and project and transportation updates.

New Hanover County ABC Board meets at 9 a.m. at 6009 Market St. An agenda was not posted by press.

The North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors will meet in person Thursday, May 28, at 9 a.m. The meeting will take place in the Board Room of the North Carolina Maritime Building located at 2202 Burnett Boulevard.m An agenda was not potsed by press; members of the public may join in person.

The Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority meets at 12:30pm at Forden Station (505 Cando St. A public comment period limited to 5 minutes per person will be offered at the meeting.Virtual attendance is not available,
