Monday, May 18
The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here.
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda can be viewed here.
The Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in the Pender County Hampstead Annex, 15060 Highway 17. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Discussion on potential tree ordinance changes
- ZTA 2026-35: Zoning Text Amendment to allow Hotels in the Industrial Districts
The Kure Beach Town Council will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes a presentation of the budget message, ordinance and fee schedule, pickleball equipment schedule discussion, special meeting scheduling, an encroachment easement, boardwalk repairs and dune protection. The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will host a meeting at 6 p.m. at 30 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes:
- A presentation on the UDO modernization project
- A public hearing on the bond order authorizing the issuance of $349,600,000 in general obligation school bonds

Tuesday, May 19
The Brunswick County Board of Elections will host a meeting at 2 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers. The agenda includes an evidentiary hearing for a voter challenge.

The Brunswick County Board of Education will hold committee meetings starting at 9 a.m. in the Brunswick County Schools Administrative Offices located at 35 Referendum Drive. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

The Carolina Beach Board of Adjustment will host a meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes a variance request for an amendment to dimensional requirements for minimum setbacks, setback exceptions for cantilevered architecture and parking dimension size. The Oak Island Planning Board will host a meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes a text amendment to the definition of ground levels and a discussion about temporary structures. Meetings can be found here.
Wednesday, May 20
North Carolina State Board of Elections will meet at 9 a.m. and the public can tune in via Webex (password, NCSBE) or by phone — 415-655-0003, enter access code 2435 231 3815#, passcode 62723#. The agenda includes board vacancies, proposal for permanent rules regarding campaign finances and more.
Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO board will meet at 5 p.m. at 146 Gregory Road in Belville. The agenda includes the 2027 budget ordinance and rate and fee schedule, as well as department reports.
Thursday, May 21
The Town of Surf City holds a work session at 6 p.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. The agenda includes discussion on the 2027 budget, committee and board appointments, facilities expansion project and more. The meeting can be streamed here.
The Southport Planning Board will host a meeting at 6 p.m. in the Southport Community Building. The agenda includes the swearing in of Clark Freise as an alternate, a Yacht Basin overlay zoning map amendment, a resiliency planning update, updates on the Historic District overlay and the Southport Crossing development. The Navassa Town Council will host a meeting at 7:30 p.m. An agenda was not posted by press.
Burgaw Planning Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at 108 E. Wilmington St. An agenda was not published by press.
The Leland Town Council will host a meeting at 6 p.m. in Town Hall. The agenda includes a presentation on the school bonds referendum and two public hearings: one on the development agreement between the town and Seaward Development Company, LLC, and the other on an amendment to rezone a county parcel. The North Carolina State Ports Authority Finance Committee will meet Thursday, May 21,10 a.m., in the Board Room of the North Carolina Maritime Building, 2202 Burnett Boulevard. Members of the public may join in person.
