
WILMINGTON — A man was charged with assault with a deadly weapon following an emergency response to a Market Street stabbing.
On March 19, at 4:22 p.m., Wilmington Police Department officers responded to a stabbing on the 4200 block of Market Street after receiving word of an injured man. Further investigation informed officers the original incident location was a wooded area near the 4500 block of Birchwood Drive.
Investigators later confirmed the injured individual was the primary aggressor, according to a WPD press release. Joseph Greene, 33, was stabbed by another man after he assaulted a woman and was later brought to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center for care.
Greene was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The investigation is still ongoing.
