[Ed. note: The advisory was lifted on the morning of Friday, Feb. 13.]
WILMINGTON — The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has a precautionary boil water advisory in effect as of Feb. 11 for 300 customers in Wilmington.
Residents on Greenville Loop Road and some surrounding areas are impacted. The following addresses could experience temporary service outage as crews correct a repair:
- The 6400 and 6500 blocks of Greenville Loop Road
- All of Turtle Hall Drive
- All of Tortoise Lane
- All of Terrapin Court
- All of Sleepy Hollow Lane
- All of Auriana Way
- All of Mirage Way
- All of Pacific Road
- All of Finch Lane
- Greenville Village mobile home park
During the work, customers may experience periods of low or no pressure in the water distribution system. This also escalates potential for back siphonage or introduction of bacteria into the water system.
Customers who aren’t using bottle water should boil tap water for 1 minute before ingesting via teeth-brushing, making ice, preparing food, washing produce, etc. There is no need to boil water for showers or bathing.
CFPUA lab staff will test the water to ensure it is safe to drink before lifting the advisory.
