Tips needed on shooting at base of CF Memorial Bridge

Law enforcement is asking for help identifying a shooter on the Brunswick side of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge (Port City Daily/File)

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A shooting incident that took place in Brunswick County is in need of public assistance, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Brunswick Sheriff’s Office needs help identifying a suspect involved in a shooting at the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge. It occurred Monday, Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m. at the base of the bridge entering into Brunswick County. No injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office suspects two vehicles involved include:

  • A white Ford F-250
  • A smaller four-door sedan

“The suspect’s vehicle possibly took the Leland Exit onto Village Road following the incident,” BCSO notes on its socials. “At this time, the suspect’s identity and description are unknown.”
