WILMINGTON — Citizen input is requested from the City of Wilmington regarding how local money is allocated when it comes to housing.

An online survey will help the city identify priorities as part of its Annual Action Plan, which assesses needs in affordable housing, homelessness, special needs and community development. The Action Plan also outlines how the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) spends funds.

Questions include rating the three most important public investments, public services, quality of life neighborhoods, issues related to affordable housing, if the surveyor wants to become a homeowner, what critical homeless service needs are and more.

Information from the survey, open through June 6, 2024, will be used to help analyze allocations of annual funding for eligible activities. The survey is anonymous and open here. A hard copy is also available by contacting Gilbert Combs at 910-341-5809 or Gilbert.Combs@wilmingtonnc.gov.

This survey is part of a larger public comment period that runs through June 26. This includes a public hearing at the June 17 city council meeting, according to a release from the city.
