Monday, May 19
The New Hanover County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes the presentation of the 2025-2026 budget.
Kure Beach Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, 117 Settlers Lane. The agenda includes approval of a residential curbside recycling agreement with Waste Management of Carolinas, Inc., and a resolution opposing H.B. 765.
Pender County Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m., 15060 Hwy 17, Hampstead. The agenda includes a rezoning request to add 84 apartments to the Hawthorne at Hampstead development, appointments to the Parks Foundation board of directors, and approval of a purchase order for NC Fire Chief Consulting to facilitate meetings between Pender EMS and Fire and Pender staff. Brunswick County Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at 30 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes a request to receive the recommended budget ordinance, capital improvement plan, and schedule of fees for 2026.

Pender County Board of Adjustment will meet at 9 a.m. in the Public Assembly Room, 805 S. Walker Street, Burgaw. The agenda includes a presentation on quasi-judicial procedures, and an appeal of an administrative decision that a gate at the connection between Pansy Lane and the Oyster Creek Landing development is a violation of the County’s Unified Development Ordinance. The Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority will meet at 12:30pm at Forden Station, 505 Cando St.A public comment period limited to 5 minutes per person will be offered at the meeting.
