WILMINGTON — A 23-year-old male has been taken into custody after allegedly revealing a firearm to officers, which ended in gunfire.

On Dec. 27 at 11:30 p.m., Savion Wilson of Wilmington was pursued on foot by officers when he jumped off his bike while wearing a ski mask on 14th and Nun streets. According to Wilmington Police Department, officers noted a gun in the perpetrator’s hand and yelled for him to drop it.

When he turned around with the firearm, while running from law enforcement, an officer fired shots and struck Wilson, who was taken into custody. The police found narcotics and retrieved the gun from the scene.

Wilson faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and narcotics charges. A full list of charges is not available at this time.

The man is in custody and remains in serious but stable condition, according to WPD.
