
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The local sheriff’s office has released a video of a suspect in an area homicide as the ATF is putting up a monetary reward for tips that lead to an arrest.

31-year-old Don’Tae De’Charles Nixon was shot and killed in the Walnut Hills community in Castle Hayne on Dec. 3. Nixon died at the scene.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), continues to investigate. The ATF has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. The community’s help to obtain information about the incident is requested.
Surveillance video below was taken from a home in the Walnut Hills community and shows someone walking near the scene, whom officers are trying to identify.
