NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A death investigation is underway from the sheriff’s office after a shooting took place in Castle Hayne during early morning hours of Dec. 3.
Deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call at 41 Stoney Road just before 2 am. Upon arrival they found 31-year-old Don’Tae Nixon at his residence, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
