NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Starting Monday, Sept. 16, the county department of health will offer flu vaccine clinics that won’t require residents to exit their cars to receive.

The drive-thru clinics will take place for two weeks, Sept. 16-20 and 23-27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 1507 Greenfield Street. The location is across from the Department of Health and Human Services building.

They’re available to everyone fix months and older, without an appointment. Individuals who have insurance are requested to bring the information.

“Our goal is to make this process as easy as possible for anyone who wants to protect themselves from the seasonal flu,” NHC Health Director Jon Campbell said in a release. “With cooler weather coming and lot of gatherings starting to transition indoors, it’s a great opportunity to go ahead and get vaccinated to prevent illness during the winter months.”
