PENDER COUNTY — A seasoned educator will be taking the helm at Penderlea School for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Stephen Harris was the assistant principal for Rocky Point Elementary and received degrees from both UNC-Charlotte and Wingate University. He has worked in elementary, middle, and high schools.

“Mr. Harris’s commitment to educational excellence is evident through his history of promoting academic achievement and creating nurturing learning environments,” Dr. Brad Breedlove, superintendent of Pender County Schools, said in a press release. “His leadership as Assistant Principal at Rocky Point Elementary has been instrumental in guiding students to excel both academically and personally.”

Harris is married with children, enjoys traveling and football, particularly the Carolina Panthers.
