WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a Sunday night car accident that left two people dead and one critical condition.
Around 9:45 p.m. on June 2, WPD officers responded to the 6500 block of Market Street in reference to a head on collision. Elisabeth Nance, a 22-year-old female of Wilmington, died at the scene. Two others were transported to Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center; 59-year-old Jeanette Yoho, also from Wilmington, died from her injuries at the hospital.
A 24-year-old male, unnamed by the WPD, was transported to NHRMC remains in critical condition.
The investigation into the cause of the crash and any contributing factors are still being investigated by the Wilmington Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit.
