WILMINGTON — Beginning immediately, Cape Fear Community College will make a limited number of WAVE bus passes available to enrolled students at no charge.

Students will need to bring their student ID to the cashier’s office to obtain a pass. No additional proof of need is necessary.

The move is an effort to support CFCC’s diverse student body and break down barriers preventing students from pursuing and accomplishing their educational goals. According to CFCC, the college receives consistent feedback that reliable transportation is a major challenge preventing students from beginning or finishing their education.

“Education should be accessible to everyone, and transportation should never be an impediment to learning,” CFCC President Jim Morton said in a press release. “By offering WAVE bus passes to currently enrolled students, we are taking a significant step toward creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment.”
