WILMINGTON — Several blocks in Wilmington’s downtown district will be paved in the coming weeks, which will impact on-street parking.
Highland Paving Company will be improving roads downtown by milling and paving, to remove the top layer of asphalt and applying new. Some work will be done during the day and some will continue at night.
In advance of the project, signs will be placed and door hangers distributed to residents and businesses. On-street parking will not be available during the specified blocks during paving operations; through traffic also will not be allowed.
On Nov. 14 at 9 p.m. crews will begin paving Front Street, between Dock and Orange streets. Work is expected to wrap by 9 a.m. Nov. 15. From Nov. 20 to Nov. 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, paving will take place:
- Dock Street between Third and Fourth streets
- Orange Street between Second and Third streets
- Second Street between Dock and Ann streets
All work is weather permitting; the schedule is subject to change.
