Wilmington man Curtis Malloy, 59, pled guilty to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon Thursday in New Hanover County Superior Court.
On May 1, police responded to a call on Evans Street and found a victim with a laceration to his face. Witnesses said Mallow rode up on his bike, cut the victim and fired on shot before leaving. Officers located Malloy in a yard at a nearby residence. In Malloy’s pockets, officers found an ice pick and knives, along with a handgun in a bookbag.
The victim and a witness with him identified Malloy as the offender.
He will serve 70 to 105 months in prison for his crimes.
